Hi, I’m Murray, I’m in my third year of the integrated masters and I’m running for webmaster.
I’ve got more than four years of experience administering servers running various services including email, game servers, and two websites that I’ve developed and maintain myself. I also have experience running Discord communities.
CSS lives or dies on its committee. If the committee is bad, the society is bad. If the committee is busy, events don’t happen. As webmaster I would introduce tooling to allow members to get involved in the operation of the society.
This would include a suggestions channel in the Discord server and the ability for members to run automatically announced small-scale events with the voting-based approval of other members.
I also want to make it possible for members to form subgroups for specific interests and provide static site hosting on the CSS domain to all members and subgroups.
This will all be open source with development happening inside the Discord and members encouraged to contribute.
